¨I believe people with intellectual disability should be supported in getting a paid job in the community¨

In October of 2010, the next chapter began and with the help of his family, Tim’s dream of owning his own business came true. Tim’s Place opened its doors in Albuquerque, New Mexico as one of the first and only restaurants to be owned by a man with Down syndrome.  Tim’s Place is open daily, serving breakfast, lunch, and hugs.

Tim’s successful determination to own a restaurant, live a happy life and inspire others has caught the attention of people from all over the world. Tim was recently interviewed on The View and has been featured in People Magazine, CBS Evening News / Sunday Morning, America ONLINE, ABC News, NBC Today Show, NBC Nightly News, National Public Radio, and on CNN News.

"On the job" is a video series that profiles employees with developmental disabilities. Created for the "It Is Possible" Project, each video showcases a different business and shows by example how hiring people with developmental disabilities makes good business sense. This video features Home Depot and employee Andy Andrianidis.

Mark Wafer owns seven Tim Hortons franchises in the Greater Toronto Area. Deaf from birth, Mark is more than just an advocate for people with disabilities. The struggle to find work when you have Down's syndrome

On May 8/15 Adam Eley from the BBC Victoria Derbyshire Programme wrote an article about "The Struggle To Find Work When You Have Down's Syndrome".
